Dr. Angela Kaplan completed her undergraduate studies at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C., graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biochemistry in 1996. She attended optometry school at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, graduating with honors in 2001. During her studies, she received the Heine award of Excellence in Optics and the William Feinbloom Low Vision Award. Dr. Kaplan further pursued her low vision specialty interest by completing a year residency at the State University of New York College of Optometry and Lighthouse International in New York City, just prior to her return to Florida. Dr. Kaplan is an active member of the Southwest Florida Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and American Optometric Association. She serves locally as a Board Member and current Treasurer of the Lighthouse of Southwest Florida, a non-profit rehabilitation center providing local low vision care.
